Utah Grizzlies News Release

West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies defeated the San Francisco Bulls 7-4 Friday night at Maverik Center before 4,888 fans.

Utah scored a season-high of 7 goals in the game, Colin Vock collected Utah's second hat trick of the year and the Grizzlies rallied back from a 3-1 first intermission deficit with six of the game's final seven goals.

"We obviously had some things to iron out during the first intermission," said Grizzlies Head Coach Kevin Colley. "I give those guys credit in that locker room to rebound and respond and that's the way we need to play like we did the final 40 minutes there. The way we came out didn't sit well with me"

The Grizzlies took over the game in the second period by outshooting San Francisco 22-3 and scoring three-straight goals. Mitch Wahl assisted on Utah's first three goals and Mark Isherwood (one goal, two assists) factored in on all three second period goals as he tied the game at three with 3:17 left in the second period.

Colin Vock gave Utah a 4-3 lead with 1:05 left in the second period with his first of three goals on the night.

In the third period, Brad Mills was credited with a goal that went into an empty-net on a delayed Utah penalty 22 seconds into the third period and gave Utah a 5-3 lead before San Francisco made it 5-4 1:02 into the frame.

In the final six minutes, Utah killed a big penalty and Vock finished off his hat trick with two goals in 20 seconds at 16:47 and 17:07 of the third period.

Mills led Utah with two goals and two assists in the contest. Gaelan Patterson also added two points with two assists in the game.

The Grizzlies return to Maverik Center Saturday to host San Francisco again at 7:05 p.m. Fans who present a can of food at the box office will receive $5 off a ticket.
