Grizzlies and Admirals Meet Tonight at the 'E' Center

March 17, 2004 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Utah Grizzlies News Release

West Valley City - The Utah Grizzlies will have seven more home games to get back in the playoff picture beginning with a battle with the Milwaukee Admirals tonight at 7:05 pm (mst). The Admirals are currently tied for first place in the West Division, sharing the highest point total in the league with Grand Rapids.

Utah (22-37-4-5), currently on a three-game losing skid, sits four points behind Cincinnati and San Antonio who are tied for the fifth and final playoff spot. While trying to overcome those opponents, the Grizzlies will have two meetings with Milwaukee and Grand Rapids, the only teams in the league who have already clinched a playoff berth.

Milwaukee (39-17-7-3) is on a six-game winning streak with two of those wins coming at home against Utah. The Admirals have a powerful offensive arsenal at their disposal including right wing Vernon Fiddler who is on a six-game point streak with nine points (2-7-9) over that period. Center Tony Hrkac has been the deadliest Admiral against the Grizzlies. Hrkac has played in five of Milwaukee's seven games against Utah this season scoring six goals and adding four assists.

The Grizzlies will host the Admirals again on Friday night before heading back on the road over the weekend.
