Goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov assigned to Cincinnati

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The Cincinnati Mighty Ducks were assigned goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim on Wednesday.

Bryzgalov was recalled March 15 from Cincinnati and appeared in one game with Anaheim, stopping 26-of-28 shots in a 3-2 overtime win March 16 at Phoenix. The victory was the first career NHL win in just his second NHL game. Bryzgalov made his NHL debut October 8, 2001 for Anaheim at Toronto, stopping 11-of-12 shots in relief of Steve Shields.

Bryzgalov, 23, has appeared in 52 games with Cincinnati this season, going 22-22-6 with a 2.27 goals-against average, .921 save percentage and four shutouts. The 6-foot-3, 197-pounder currently ranks second in the AHL in games, wins, minutes played (3,013) and third in saves (1,337).

A native of Togliatti, Russia, Bryzgalov was drafted by Anaheim in the second round (44th overall) of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.

In other roster moves, Cincinnati recalled defenseman Andy Reierson from ECHL San Diego and goaltender Ron Vogel from UHL Rockford.

Reierson, 25, had three assists in six games with San Diego this season. He has five assists with 10 penalty minutes in 24 games with Cincinnati.

Vogel, 24, has appeared in 55 games with Rockford this season, going 23-29-1 with a 3.25 goals-against average and .907 save percentage.
