Red Wings recall Myrvold
March 17, 2004 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Grand Rapids Griffins News Release
Grand Rapids, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League on Wednesday announced that the Detroit Red Wings have recalled defenseman Anders Myrvold.
Myrvold, 28, has logged four games with the Red Wings over two previous stints this season. He recorded his first assist in a Detroit uniform on Feb. 29 versus Philadelphia and has averaged 11:52 of ice time with the parent club. His recall was necessitated when Derian Hatcher sustained a shoulder injury in the Red Wings' 4-1 loss to Calgary last night.
Myrvold, who joins Detroit for a five-game western swing that begins tomorrow in Phoenix, has appeared in 63 games with the Griffins this season, showing 18 assists, 78 penalty minutes and an even rating.
Grand Rapids will conclude a three-game home stand tonight against the Toronto Roadrunners. Faceoff at Van Andel Arena is set for 7 p.m.
