Canucks Re-Assign Kavanagh to Moose

The Vancouver Canucks today announced they have re-assigned centre Pat Kavanagh to the Manitoba Moose.

Kavanagh, 24, has played in 63 games with the Moose this season, registering 18 goals and 18 assists for 36 points and 57 PIM. He also leads the team in a number of categories, including five game-winning goals, four shorthanded goals and two overtime markers. During his recent recall to the Canucks, he played in three games and scored his first goal of the season on Mar. 13 vs. Ottawa.

Last season, Kavanagh made his NHL regular season debut scoring his first NHL goal on March 17, 2003 against the Dallas Stars. He played three games with the Canucks in 2002-03, scoring one goal. In 63 games with the Moose that season, Kavanagh netted 30 points (15g, 15a) in 63 games. In his 196-game career with Manitoba, Kava nagh has 98 points (46g, 52a) and 253 PIM.

Kavanagh was acquired by Vancouver from Philadelphia in exchange for a sixth round draft pick on June 1, 1999.
