Manchester Monarchs News Release
MANCHESTER, NH â The Manchester Monarchs, the AHL affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, are pleased to announce that Tuesday's "At Your Service" Dinner at the Event Center at C.R. Sparks Restaurant in Bedford, NH, netted $70,000 for the Monarchs Care Foundation and its charitable partners: Big Brothers Big Sisters Manchester, Catholic Medical Center, Child Health Services and Boys & Girls Club of Manchester. Organized by the Monarchs Wives Group, the "At Your Service" Dinner annually turns a normally rugged hockey team into an accomplished wait staff eager to perform special requests for charitable donations. Requests from the event ranged from singing a song and telling a joke to posing for a photo and dancing.
Monarchs play-by-play man Ken Cail and Monarchs public address announcer Sean Sullivan opened the event by introducing the Monarchs players and the Monarchs coaching staff. Monarchs head coach Bruce Boudreau and Monarchs president Jeff Eisenberg also briefly addressed the nearly 400 fans attending before turning the evening over to the players.
Along with a chance to get up close and personal with their favorite Monarch, fans were able to bid on theme baskets put together by the players. Included in the baskets were items that reflected the players' interests and personalities. Fans also had a chance to bid on game-worn jerseys and pottery painted by the players at "You're Fired," a pottery and mosaic studio in Bedford.
The Monarchs netted over $60,000 dollars at last year's "At Your Service" event.
The Monarchs, winners of six straight, return to action when they visit the Tsongas Arena in Lowell and play the Lowell Lock Monsters at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 19. After that, they're scheduled to host the Providence Bruins at 7:35 p.m. on Saturday, March 20 at the Verizon Wireless Arena on New Hampshire Legends of Hockey Night. Only single seats remain for Saturday's game. For ticket information, visit the Monarchs on-line at www.monarchshockey.com.
