Wheeling Nailers News Release
Wheeling, WV - Tonight's game is on as scheduled for the Wheeling Nailers and the road conditions in many areas have improved so rapidly it appears that a lot of our fans should have little difficulty getting to the game.
So after being snowed in for a little while hopefully the roads in your neighborhood are good too and you are looking forward to getting out of the house and cheering us on with some fun Nailers hockey tonight.
It's the best way to beat the Blizzard Blues!
Many area fans are reporting that interstates and main roads in the Ohio Valley are in good condition. Traffic on I-70 is now flowing smoothly and there is no snow on the highway at all.
Downtown Wheeling and Main Street heading into WesBanco Arena still has a little bit of snow cover so be careful on the approach to the game. But overall the area looks to be pretty good to handle arena traffic for tonight's game between the Wheeling Nailers and Kalamazoo Wings at 8:05pm. Traffic on I-70 is flowing smoothly.
Special thanks go out to all the hard working road crews in West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Ohio for doing such a fantastic job cleaning up all the snow from the big storm of the past 24 hours. A little bit of sun and the temperature getting a little warmer aided the situation as well.
But it is due to the hard work of all the guys with the salt and the plows who made it possible for us to have this game tonight and also possible for many of our fans to come attend when initially many were doubting whether they would be able to come out at all.
Tonight's game is Snow-Bird bobblehead night for the first 1000 kids in attendance courtesy of WTOV-9. The Wheeling Nailers could not have had better timing for that promotional give-away if they tried!
It's the Nailers and the Kalamazoo Wings tonight at 8:05pm and we hope to see you there! Call the Nailers for info or tickets at 304-234-GOAL.
