ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL Los Angeles Kings, fell to the Stockton Thunder, 4-1, on Friday evening before 5,169 fans at the Citizens Business Bank Arena. The match marked the first of four consecutive games between the clubs.

James McEwan netted his second goal of the season and opened scoring in the match at 10:15 in the first period. Left wing Peter Lenes intercepted a pass intended for a Stockton player and threw the puck up to forward Michael Pelech. Pelech snapped the puck across the zone to McEwan, who fired off a shot from the top right of the crease that sailed past Thunder netminder Andrew Perugini.

The Thunder didn't get on the board until exactly halfway through the second period, when right wing Colin Hemingway scored the first of four consecutive Stockton goals. Hemingway deflected a pass from left wing Matt Robinson into the back of the net. Right wing James Bates also picked up an assist on the Thunder's opening goal.

Center Chris D'Alvise netted his first of three goals in the third period at 3:25. His wrist shot from the top of the crease hit the inside of the right post and bounced over the red line with an assist from James Bates. At 17:19, D'Alvise put the Thunder ahead by two with his second goal of the night. Less than two minutes later, Chris D'Alvise registered the first natural hat trick in Thunder history and scored the final goal of the game. Stockton took the two points with a final score of Thunder 4, Reign 1.
