ANCHORAGE - The Alaska Aces (22-21-2-2, 48 points) got two goals from LW Eric Boguniecki and held off a rally by the Bakersfield Condors (26-15-2-1, 55 points) for a 3-2 win Friday night at Sullivan Arena. The Aces took advantage of the Condors first period tendencies, jumping out to a 2-0 lead. LW Eric Boguniecki scored just 1:33 in, and F Nick Mazzolini tallied late to give the home team the advantage. Neither Aces G Frank Doyle (5 shots) nor Condors G Timo Pielmeier (9 shots) were overwhelmed with action in a defensive first period.

Bakersfield cut into the lead in the middle stanza. Rookie D Ray Eichenlaub notched his first goal of the season at 8:29 to make it a one-goal game. F Andrew Ianiero and RW Ryan Menei picked up the helpers. The Aces pushed back in front by two with Boguniecki's second of the game at 15:04.

That third Aces goal proved to be costly, as the Condors pulled back within striking distance in the third. F Mathieu Aubin redirected a shot from D Chris Allen to make it 3-2 less than three minutes into the final period, but the equalizer eluded the Condors, who were outshot 30-27 on the night.
