Gladiators Sign Forward Sawruk

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that they have singed right wing Alex Sawruk out of Northern Michigan University. The Gladiators also announced that they have released forward Chris Peterson.

Sawruk ranked sixth in scoring for Northern Michigan last season posting 16 points off of 7 goals and 9 assists. Named the Jim Mussato Memorial Fitness Award winner during his final collegiate season, Sawruk recorded two power play goals in 35 games with Northern Michigan.

The rookie totaled 22 goals in four collegiate seasons at Northern Michigan University in 120 games.

Peterson was released after appearing in 11 games with the Gladiators recording 0 goals and 2 assists for 2 points.

Sawruk should be available for the Gladiators 7:05 p.m. contest tonight at the Arena at Gwinnett Center against the Pee Dee Pride.
