LAST WEEK'S RECORD: 2-0-0 OVERALL RECORD: 12-11-2, 26 pts.

December 20 @ Las Vegas, 5-4 Shootout Win - In this midnight tilt the Falcons trailed by a single goal on three separate occasions before Dan Tessier and Sam Ftorek each scored in the third period to give their club its only lead of the game, 4-3. The Wranglers tied the contest at four with 1:04 remaining in regulation, though, forcing overtime and eventually the shootout. In the shootout, goaltender Jamie Hodson stopped four of five Las Vegas shooters and Tessier and Jason Weaver lit the lamp for Fresno to deliver the victory.

December 26 @ Bakersfield, 3-1 Win - Fresno won its second road game in a row by out-playing the West Division-leading Condors. Tied at one through two periods, the Falcons out-shot Bakersfield 12-2 in the third and used a short-handed goal from Dan Tessier and an insurance tally from Simon Mangos to skate away with the victory.

Tuesday, Dec. 28 @ Peoria, 5 p.m. - The Falcons continue their season-long, seven-game road trip in Peoria with the first of two against the Rivermen at the Peoria Civic Center. The live radio broadcast begins at 4:50 p.m. with the pre-game show on 103.1 FM, The Mountain Cat.

Wednesday, Dec. 29 @ Peoria, 5 p.m. - The finale from Peoria, where the Rivermen currently stand in eighth place in the North Division. The live radio broadcast again begins at 4:50 p.m. with the pre-game show on The Mountain Cat.

Friday, Dec. 31 @ Wheeling, 4:30 p.m. - The Falcons then trek to Wheeling, W. Va., for a date with the Nailers, who currently stand tied for second in the North Division. They are led by goaltender Dany Sabourin, who has a league-high five shutouts this season. The live radio broadcast begins at 4:20 p.m. with the pre-game show on The Mountain Cat.

Saturday, Jan. 1 @ Johnstown, 4 p.m. - Fresno rings in the New Year from the Cambria County War Memorial arena made famous by the movie Slapshot with a tilt against the Chiefs. The live radio broadcast begins at 3:50 p.m. with the pre-game show on The Mountain Cat.

Sunday, Jan. 2 @ Wheeling, 2 p.m. - The Falcons conclude their road trip with another game against the Nailers. Fans are invited to a listening party at BC's Pizza & Beer that afternoon with free pizza and soft drinks provided courtesy of Sierra Tel Internet. The live radio broadcast begins at 1:50 p.m. with the pre-game show on The Mountain Cat.

NOTES

. Dan Tessier's two goals and one assist last week give him a team-high 26 points (10g-16a), tied for 11th league-wide.

. Tessier's game-winner against Bakersfield was his fourth of the season, the second highest total in the league, and his second short-handed goal of the year.

. Charles Simard has 18 points (4g-14a), fourth in scoring among league defensemen.

. Jamie Hodson's 42 saves against the Wranglers was a team season-high.

. Fresno's victory at Las Vegas helped the team reach the .500 mark for the first time since Nov. 22, 2003.

. The win at Bakersfield was the Falcons' third in a row, tying a season-high.

. Fresno is 2-0-1 against non-divisional foes this season, which includes a 4-1 win over the North Division's Toledo Storm on Nov. 9 at Save Mart Center.

. The Falcons are ranked 12th (16.1%) on the power play and 23rd (80.8%) on the penalty kill.

. Fresno begins the week in a tie for sixth place in the West Division with the Wranglers, three points out of fourth place, which is required to qualify for the playoffs at the end of the season, and eight points back of the division-leading Condors.
