December 28, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Bakersfield Condors News Release
Bakersfield, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors say good-bye to 2004 and wrap up a seven-game homestand with three matches against the Las Vegas Wranglers this week at Centennial Garden. All three games start at 7:00 p.m.
Tonight the Condors pay tribute to the most famous student Hogwarts ever produced with Harry Potter Night, sponsored by KLLY 95.3. The first 1,000 kids 12 and under will get a free Harry Potter school folder, just in time to go back to school in style after the holiday break. In addition, anyone dressing as Harry Potter can receive 2-for-1 admission tonight.
The Condors collection drives continue this holiday season with cell phone collection night. Anyone donating a working or non-working cell phone can purchase a terrace ticket for just $1. The working phones will be donated to the Alliance Against Family Violence and Sexual Assault. The organization will gain the proceeds from the recycling of inoperable ones. It's a special night as well for all Eagle Mountain Casino Players Club members. They can purchase 2-for-1 tickets by showing their membership card at the box office.
Vegas is in town again on Friday night for Bright House Networks' Tux & Pucks New Year's Eve Gala. Fans are invited to dress in formal attire to celebrate the turn of the New Year with the Condors as they don special tuxedo jerseys for a jersey raffle and auction. Five jerseys will be raffled off with everyone in attendance eligible to win one for free, while the rest will be auctioned after the game to raise proceeds for the United Way of Bakersfield.
Super Fan Cameron Hughes will make his celebrated return to Bakersfield on Friday as well. We dare to you NOT to be entertained as he works his hilarity over the crowd. This New Year's celebration is one for the whole family as well, with Bright House Networks Family Night. Subscribers can receive $5 admission per person by presenting the coupon available in this month's cable bill. In addition, fans who purchase a button for the First Night Kern celebration will receive a voucher good for a free terrace admission. After the game, a mock New Year's countdown will take place for the kids who have to hit the sack early, complete with a balloon drop, free noisemakers and video of the famous New Year's ball dropping earlier that night in Times Square.
Don't spend the start of 2005 cooped up in the house or mourning 2004. Come to the Garden on Saturday, January 1st, 2005 for the Condors and Wranglers. The Condors are holding their own Bowl Game, featuring KUZZ 107.9 and Pepsi Drink Pitcher Giveaway for the first 2,000 adults. Use these very stylish Condors pitchers to serve up your favorite drinks all year long and when you think about tasty beverages, think about Condors hockey! One member of the 2004-05 Condors squad will be presented with the Kern Trophies Condor of the Month trophy as well during the first intermission. Fans select the Condor of the Month in an online poll at www.bake rsfieldcondors.com. Log on to vote through the end of the night on Friday.
It's not too late to secure premium seat locations for this weekend's games by purchasing a mini-ticket plan or putting a bunch of your friends together for a festive group outing.
