
Gill Returns to the K-Wings

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the ECHL and affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders and American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, announce goaltender Riley Gill has been returned to the K-Wings from the Worcester Sharks of the AHL.
In his recent stint in Worcester, Gill backed up for the Sharks in the three games he dressed.
Entering his first full season as a professional, Gill participated in the training camp of the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Acquired in a trade with the Victoria Salmon Kings two weeks ago, Gill hasn't yet made his season debut with the K-Wings. On the season, Gill went 3-0-0, with Victoria with a goals against average of 1.33 and earned his first pro shutout on 10/15/10 against Idaho. Earlier this month, Gill was named the ECHL's Goaltender of the Month for October.
Gill started his pro career last season with the K-Wings after completing his collegiate career with Western Michigan University. Last season with the K-Wings, Gill went 1-0-1 in the regular season with a goals against average of 2.40. In his first pro game, Gill stopped 36 saves to record his first pro win on 03/20/10 against Wheeling.
With Gill returning, the K-Wings have released goaltender Tom Askey.
Gill will be with the Kalamazoo as they being a two-game road swing starting tomorrow, Tuesday, November 16th with a special 10:30 a.m. face-off at the U.S. Bank Arena against the Cincinnati Cyclones.
The K-Wings will return home to Wings Stadium on Thursday, November 25th for a 7:30 p.m. encounter versus the Greenville Road Warriors during the Old Burdick's Thanksgiving Night Game.
