November 15, 2010 - ECHL (ECHL)
Cincinnati Cyclones News Release

The Cincinnati Cyclones will play two games this week against the Kalamazoo Wings, both of which will be at U.S. Bank Arena. Tomorrow's game will be the fourth-annual Education in Hockey Day presented by the Ohio Lottery...with a special 10:30am opening face-off.

THIS PAST WEEKEND:

About Sunday Afternoon in Toledo: Team captain Barret Ehgoetz scored a goal and added an assist while Chet Pickard turned aside 31 shots en route to a 2-1 victory over the Walleye at Huntington Center. It was Pickard's first win as a Cyclone and Cincinnati's fifth straight victory.

About Saturday Night vs. Gwinnett: Barret Ehgoetz' 13th career game-winning goal came in the second round of a shootout on Saturday. His goal, teamed with a perfect five-for-five save performance from Cincinnati goalie Marc Cheverie, helped propel Cyclones to a 4-3 shootout victory over the Gladiators in front of 8,241 at U.S. Bank Arena. Dylan Hunter and Dustin Sproat also scored for Cincinnati...both of which were game-tying goals.

About Friday Night in Toledo: Cyclones goaltender Marc Cheverie posted his second shutout in three games as he turned aside 43 shots en route to a 2-0 win over the Toledo Walleye on Friday night at Huntington Center. Dylan Hunter and Kevin Roeder each scored for Cincinnati.

STORYLINES:

Class is in Session: Tomorrow is the fourth-annual Education in Hockey Day presented by the Ohio Lottery. The Cyclones welcome the Kalamazoo Wings to U.S. Bank Arena for the special 10:30am face-off...it's the first time that these two teams have met in a morning game in Cincinnati. Throughout the morning, students from around the Tri-State will learn Math, Science, Geography, and Physical Education from the Cyclones players themselves. Cincinnati holds a 2-1-0 record on Education in Hockey Day. In late March, the Cyclones will play in Kalamazoo for their "Education" game.

Scouting the Wings: Kalamazoo comes in limping after dropping three of its last four contests, although they just demolished Wheeling 5-0 this past Sunday evening. The Wings are tied for 2nd in the North Division, having been outscored 14-8 in their last four games, however they are 3-0-0 against the Cyclones this year....two of those wins coming in the extra session (1 OTL and 1 SOL).

Keeping 'em off the board: Cyclones netminder Marc Cheverie has been one of the league's hottest goaltenders of late. Over his last five games, he has earned a 4-0-1 record and a 1.00 goals-against average.
