Alaska Aces News Release
The Alaska Aces have received goaltender, Alex Petizian back from loan with the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League, and have released forward, Pierce Norton, Aces Head Coach, Brent Thompson announced on Monday. The moves were announced in conjunction with other minor transactions before the Aces begin a season-long, eight-game road trip this weekend in Utah.
Petizian, 23, was loaned to Portland earlier this month, and played in two AHL games for the Buffalo Sabers top affiliate. He compiled a 0-1 record, making a combined 41 saves on 46 shots in one start and one relief appearance. All three games in Petizian's career have come at the AHL level. The 25-year old Norton played in two games for the Aces this season. Additional moves announced by the Aces had defenseman Bryan Miller transferred to the 7-day IR, and forward Jerad Stewart placed on the 3-day IR.
The Aces now hit the road for a four-state, eight-game, three-week road trip through Utah, Elmira, Trenton, and Idaho, beginning next Friday night in Salt Lake City. The Aces will return home to host the Victoria Salmon Kings on Wednesday, December 8th. For more information, please call the Aces at 907.258.ACES or visit them online at www.alaskaaces.com.
