Georgii Merkulov Selected to 2024 AHL All-Star Classic

Springfield, MA - The American Hockey League announced today, January 10, that forward Georgii Merkulov has been selected to represent the Providence Bruins at the 2024 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Tech CU. The All-Star Skills Competition, February 4, and the All-Star Challenge, February 5, will take place at Tech CU Arena in San Jose, Calif.

The nomination marks Merkulov's first All-Star selection in his second full professional season.

Merkulov, 23, notched 14 goals and 19 assists for 33 points in his first 33 games of the season. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound forward has eight multi-point games this season, including a season-high five-point effort behind two goals and three assists at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on December 9.

Across the league, Merkulov ranks tied for third in points (33), tied for eighth in goals (14), tied for 15th in assists (19), tied for 15th in power play goals (5), and leads the P-Bruins in each of those categories.

Merkulov received his first NHL recall on December 29, and appeared in his first four NHL games with Boston.

The Ryazan, Russia, native was originally signed as a free agent in April of 2022.
