About Tonight's Game: Tonight's South Division match-up features the Jacksonville Icemen and the Greenville Swamp Rabbits. Both teams are coming off losses to the Atlanta Gladiators with the Icemen falling 4-1 up in Duluth, Georgia on Saturday, while the Swamp Rabbits will be looking to bounce back after an 8-2 setback to the Gladiators on home ice on Friday. Greenville has made quite the turnaround in the first quarter of the season. After finishing in the seventh and final spot in South Division in each of the two previous seasons, the Swamp Rabbits have the opportunity this evening to pull into second place in the division.
Series History: The Icemen lead the All-Time Series 13-10-0, while Grenville leads the season series 4-0-0 including a 4-3 overtime victory in Jacksonville on Opening Night (Oct. 12).
About the Icemen: Chase Lang leads the Icemen offensively with a balanced 12 points (6g, 6a)....Captain Emerson Clark will be available to play this evening after serving a five-game suspension. Clark leads the Icemen with two goals against Greenville....Goaltender Michael McNiven ranks third in the league with a 1.85-goals-against-avereage while ranking second with a 0.942 save percentage....Jacksonville has scored 18 of its 39 goals in the second period.....Yesterday the Icemen acquired forward Craig Martin from the Adirondack Thunder in exchange for forward James Phelan.
About the Swamp Rabbits: Patrick Bajkov (12g, 6a) and Liam Pecararo (11g, 7a) are tired for the team in lead in scoring with 18 points each....Veteran forward Nathan Perkovich leads Greenville with six points (2g, 4a) against the Icemen this season. Perkovich, Pecararo, Cedrick Lacroix, Matt Marcinew and Adam Rockwood have each scored two goals against Jacksonville this season....The Swamp Rabbits are tied for the league lead with four shorthanded goals, while the Icemen have allowed the most shorthanded goals against with six.
