TONIGHT:

The Ontario Reign (42-17-3-4) will travel to Stockton to take on the Thunder (29-30-0-6) for their final road game of the 2013-14 regular season. After tonight these two teams will meet two more times at Citizens Business Bank Arena on Sunday, Apr. 6 at 4 p.m. and again on Wednesday, Apr. 9 at 7 p.m. The Reign lead the season series 8-5-0-0.

LAST MEETING:

On Saturday, these two teams met in Ontario with the Reign pulling out the win with a final score of 3-1. The Thunder held the Reign to just one shot in the first period, something that has only happened five times since the team's inaugural season in 2008. Most recently, the Alaska Aces held the typically offensive power-house to just one shot in 20 minutes on Jan. 12, 2013. Stockton also tied the most shots-against season record in one period with 17. The Reign tied a season record of killing off eight penalties in one game. The season record was set on Dec. 12, 2013 with Troy Redmann between the pipes.

ON THE ROAD:

For the final time this season the Reign are playing away from Citizens Business Bank Arena. The Reign currently rank first in the league when playing away from home with a 22-9-1-2 record good for 47 points. They are trailed closely by the Cincinnati Cyclones (22-9-0-2 road record) who play on the road tonight and still have two road games left to take the top spot.

SPECIAL TEAMS:

The Reign will face the second best power play in the league as the Thunder have a 19.5% success rate with the man-advantage. The Reign are ranked in the middle of the league in this category with a 16.4% success rate. Ontario outranks the Thunder on the penalty kill with warding off 84.8% off short-handed attempts. This rating has increased with three straight games without a power-play goal-against. Stockton's rate is 15th in the league at 83.2%.
