Blomstrand Returns and K-Wings Add Hinds
April 2, 2014 - ECHL (ECHL)
Kalamazoo Wings News Release
Kalamazoo, MI- After absorbing losses to their roster due to injuries and call-ups, the Kalamazoo Wings are starting to replenish those numbers. Earlier this morning, the forward Ludwig Blomstrand was reassigned to the K-Wings by the Vancouver Canucks.
Blomstrand, who was reassigned to the American Hockey League's Utica Comets, last Thursday, played in one game with the Comets. In 40 games with the K-Wings, Blomstrand has posted 23 points (12 goals, 11 assists).
The K-Wings have also signed free-agent defenseman Tyler Hinds. Kalamazoo will be the fourth stop during Hinds' rookie season. The defenseman also saw action this year with the Utah Grizzlies, Greenville Road Warriors and Evansville IceMen.
The native of Orleans, Ontario was a four-year standout at Robert Morris University. Hinds' most productive season with the Colonials was during his senior campaign, where he posted 18 points (3 goals, 15 assists) in 38 games. Following his final collegiate game a season ago, Hinds began his pro career in the playoffs playing in three games for the Central Hockey League's Arizona Sundogs.
In a separate transaction, the K-Wings have waived forward John May.
Kalamazoo will continue their season long six-game road swing with the second-leg of the trip tonight, Wednesday, April 2nd with a 7:05 p.m. face-off versus the Elmira Jackals.
Tickets for the final regular season game on April 12th versus the Evansville IceMen and playoff K-Wings home games are currently on sale at the Wings Stadium Ticket Office, all Ticketmaster locations, including www.ticketmaster.com or by calling (800) 745-3000.
