
Quick Is the MeiGray Group ECHL Alumnus of the Month

PRINCETON, N.J. - Former ECHL and current Los Angeles Kings' goaltender Jonathan Quick is The MeiGray Group ECHL Alumnus of the Month for March.
The leading distributor of game- worn hockey jerseys and "Official Game-Worn Jersey Source of the ECHL," MeiGray has sold more than 6,800 jerseys since it became "The Official Game-Worn Jersey Source of the ECHL" in 2002-03.
The 28-year-old went 9-3-0 in 12 appearances during the month with one shutout, a 1.98 goals-against average and a save percentage of .919. He allowed two goals or less in eight of his 12 games in March and made at least 23 saves seven times.
A third-round selection (72nd overall) by the Kings in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Quick is 26-16-2 in 45 appearances with Los Angeles this season while ranking second in the NHL with five shutouts and fifth with a 2.08 goals-against average.
Overall in his NHL career, he has seen action 331 games posting an overall record of 175-116-31 with 30 shutouts, a 2.29 goals-against average and a save percentage of .915. He helped lead the Kings to their first-ever Stanley Cup title in 2012, earning the Conn Smythe Trophy as the Most Valuable Player of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Quick appeared in 38 games for Reading in the 2007-08 season going 23-11-3 with one shutout, a 2.79 goals-against average and a save percentage of .905. He became the ninth goaltender in ECHL history to score a goal on Oct. 24, 2007 against Pensacola.
There have been 532 players who have played in the NHL after playing in the ECHL including 20 who have made their debut in 2013-14. The ECHL has had 340 players reach the NHL since 2002-03 when it changed its focus to become the primary developmental league for the NHL and the AHL. The ECHL had 97 players reach the NHL in its first 10 seasons and 215 in the first 15 years. There have been 276 ECHL players who have played their first game in the last seven seasons for an average of more than 30 per year.
