Cepis Awarded CCM ECHL Player of the Month

Orlando, FL - The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Minnesota Wild and Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Iowa Wild and Toronto Marlies, announced today that F Jacob Cepis has been named the CCM ECHL Player of the Month for March with seven goals and 16 assists for 23 points in 14 games.

The month for Cepis was highlighted by five games in which he tallied at least three points. He posted his first hat trick as a Solar Bear on March 4, scoring all three Solar Bears goals in regulation before assisting on F Mickey Lang's overtime goal as the Solar Bears defeated the Everblades 4-3. The following game, on March 7, Cepis racked up three assists to help Orlando to a 4-3 victory over the Greenville Road Warriors. The Solar Bears forward once again put up a four point effort on March 19, scoring the game-winning goal in the third period and picking up three assists in the contest as the Solar Bears took a 5-4 decision over the Fort Wayne Komets. Cepis ended the month with back-to-back games against the Evansville IceMen, first putting up three assists on March 27, and then scoring two goals to go along with two assists on March 29.

The Parma, OH, native is currently second on the Solar Bears in points with 53 in 42 games. He leads the team with 35 assists. Cepis has appeared in 165 games with the Idaho Steelheads, Trenton Titans, and Orlando Solar Bears during his ECHL career, totaling 63 goals and 111 assists for 174 points. In nine ECHL Kelly Cup Playoff games, all with Idaho in 2011-12, Cepis has scored nine points on four goals and five assists.
