Wichita is 2-1-0-0 vs. Tulsa this season
HEAD-TO-HEAD - This is the fourth meeting of the season between the Thunder and the Oilers. All-time, Wichita is 133-111-23 against Tulsa and 74-49-12 at home in the series.
TODAY - Wichita finishes a busy November home schedule this evening as the Tulsa Oilers make their second trip to the Air Capital. The two teams played a tight hockey game last night with the Oilers claiming a 2-0 victory for their first win in the StoneWolf Casino Cup Series. After tonight, the Oilers will close the weekend with a Sunday matinee against Missouir. The Thunder will begin a seven-game road trip on December 5th in Missouri followed by a trip to Rapid City, SD and three in Colorado against the Eagles.
CARR SLOWS THUNDER - Wichita was unable to find the back of the net last night in a 2-0 loss at Tulsa. In his first start against the Thunder this season, Kevin Carr claimed his second shutout of the season. He improved to 13-2-0-0 all-time against the Thunder, which includes a 12-2-0-0 record a season ago. It was also the fourth time this season the Thunder have been shutout.
HOME COOKING - The Thunder finishes off a long run of home games tonight after spending much of the month of November at home. Wichita will have played eight games at home this month before heading on the road for seven-straight games. The Thunder is 2-8-0-1 in Novemer and 2-4-0-1 at home
MILESTONES - Ian Lowe is nearing several milestones. He hit 100 ECHL points on Wednesday night with an assist. He needs 17 more games to have played in 300 as a pro. He also needs seven more points to hit the 200 point plateau. The fifth year pro out of Bradwardine, BC is currently in his fourth season in the Air Capital. 158 of his 193 points have come donning Thunder blue.
MULTI-POINT - Danick Gauthier and Andy Huff led the way up front for the Thunder offense on Wednesday. Gauthier recorded his first two-goal game of the season. Huff had a goal and an assist, which is his second multi-point game of the season.
THUNDERBOLTS...Peter Sakaris leads the team in shots with 48...Paxton Leroux and Daniel Johnston made their Thunder debuts on Wednesday night with each recording an assist...Erick Lizon had his first point of the season on Wednesday... Wichita is 4-0-0-1 when leading after two...Wichita is 3-3-0-0 when tied after one...Wichita is 4-3-0-1 in one goal games..Wichita outshot their opponent for just the fifth time this season on Wednesday and is 2-3-0-0 in that span...
TULSA NOTES - Ben Walker was returned to Tulsa while Jussi Olkinuora was recalled to the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League...Dennis Brown has assists in five of the last six games, recording eight helpers in that span...Adam Pleskach had a hat trick, the fourth of his career, last Saturday against Allen...Christophe Lalancette has six points in his first five games as a pro...Tulsa has power play goals in four of their last six outings...
