Alaska Aces News Release
ANCHORAGE, AK - Evansville scored three straight goals in the second period, erasing a 2-1 Alaska lead, and went on to defeat the Aces 4-2 Friday night at the Sullivan Arena.
Alaska led 1-0 after one period on Tyler Maxwell's one-timer off a William Wrenn pass on the power play.
That lead lasted until 3:54 of the second period, when Justin MacDonald took an Aces turnover and turned it into a backhand wrap-around goal to tie the game.
Justin Breton gave the lead back to the Aces with a forehand wraparound goal at 9:29, but that would be the end of Alaska's scoring.
Evansville's Ryan Penny snapped a long wrister past Steven Summerhays at 10:48 to tie the game once again. That was followed by Jordan Sims goal 31 seconds later. Daulton Leveille completed the game's scoring with a power play tally at 15:51 of the second period.
Alaska outshot Evansville 40-21 for the game. Icemen goaltender
Cody Reichard made 38 saves. Summerhays finished with 17 for Alaska.
The two teams meet again Saturday night at 7:15 and Sunday afternoon at 3:05pm Alaska time.
