NORFOLK, Va. - Zach Larazza and Matt Leitner paced the Manchester Monarchs with a goal and an assist each to earn the weekend sweep of the Norfolk Admirals in a 4-3 victory Saturday night at Scope Arena.

After a scoreless first period, the Admirals were first to light the lamp at 4:17 in the second frame, when Ben Betker had a laser of a shot from the left wing in front of the blue line. Jordon Hill gained possession and passed it behind him to Charles-Olivier Roussel who quickly moved it across the ice to Betker. Betker's shot slithered through traffic in front and into Manchester netminder Colin Stevens' net.

As Norfolk's Michael Pelech sat for tripping, Manchester answered with 11:10 left in the second. David Kolomatis knocked it to Matt White near the left circle. As Kolomatis set a screen in front of Norfolk goalie Tyler Beskorowany, White's pass to defenseman Michael Boivin's stick led to a Boivin slapshot that evened the score, 1-1, from the high slot.

The Monarchs turned on the red light again at 14:51 after Beskorowany lost his stick. Yann Sauve dumped the puck around the boards, which stopped at White's skates. White then drove it out of the right corner. As Beskorowany sprawled to smother the puck, White slid a shot from the top of the crease that squeezed inside the left post for a 2-1 Manchester lead.

During a Norfolk power play late in the second, Betker drilled the puck along the ice towards Manchester's net from the top of the left circle. Nicolas Blanchard stood in front of the goal and redirected the shot into the top shelf to knot it at 2-2 at 16:07.

Just 1:22 into the final frame, the Monarchs broke the tie. Matt Leitner fed a pass from the right corner to forward Zac Larazza. Larazza hit the back of Beskorowany's net from the high slot for the go-ahead goal and a 3-2 advantage.

Manchester widened the gap when Stefan Legein carried the puck across center ice and into Norfolk's zone. Legein made a short pass to Leitner, whose quick trigger from the hashmarks beat Beskorowany with 3:13 to play.

The last goal of the night occurred when Monarch Troy Power headed to the penalty box for delay of game with 1:47 left in regulation. The Admirals pulled Beskorowany, which gave Norfolk the 6-on-4 advantage. Blanchard dished the puck to Scott Allen down low, and Allen shoveled a point-blank one-timer through to tighten the margin to 4-3 at 19:07 in the third. Manchester drained the remaining 53 seconds of play for a second straight win over Norfolk this weekend.

Norfolk goaltender Beskorowany blocked 35 out of 39 attempts on net, while Manchester's Stevens saved 20 out of 23. Norfolk converted on two of their five man-advantages, while Manchester went 1-for-3.

The Admirals will continue their homestand this Wednesday, December 2, against the South Carolina Stingrays at 7:15 p.m.
