Kingston - With the fifth overall selection in the OHL Priority Selection Presented by State Farm, the Kingston Frontenacs selected Elgin-Middlesex forward Lawson Crouse. The six-foot-three, 183-pound left winger impressed scouts across the OHL with his 22 goals and 50 points in 27 games this season playing left wing on the line centred by Travis Konecny, selected first overall by the Ottawa 67s. Crouse was equally impressive at the recent OHL Cup, scoring four goals in five games.

"We are excited to select Lawson," said General Manager Doug Gilmour. "He brings an intimidating presence on the ice, is a great skater and has a really skilled winger." OHL Central Scouting listed Crouse as one of the best wingers in the draft, capable of impacting a game in several ways.

"This guy is exactly what we need," said Jeff McKercher, Head Scout with the Kingston Frontenacs. "It's tough to find a six-food-three forward with his skill set. Lawson is a presence every time he's on the ice, competes in all three zones, and finishes all of his checks."
