LAST WEEK: Fresno went 2-0-1 last week to extend its unbeaten streak to 11 games (9-0-2). The Falcons are 21-9-2 for 44 points, and are tied with Las Vegas for first place in both the Pacific Division and National Conference. The 44 points are also tied with Florida and Texas for the most overall in the league.
Friday, January 5 vs. Victoria FALCONS 4 Salmon Kings 1
John Morlang got the Falcons off to a quick start, scoring his team-leading 15th goal of the season 1:45 into the contest. Fresno's 1-0 lead held up until Victoria scored a 5-on-3 power-play goal just 36 seconds into the third period to even the score. Brady Leisenring answered just over two minutes later to put the Falcons on top for good. Rob McFeeters and Dave Borrelli added insurance goals just over a minute apart midway through the final period to set the final.
Saturday, January 6 @ Long Beach Ice Dogs 3 FALCONS 2 (OT)
Fresno's eight-game winning streak came to an end with a 3-2 overtime loss at Long Beach Arena. The Falcons took a 1-0 lead 5:11 into the opening period on a Rob McFeeters power-play goal, only to see the Ice Dogs pull even at 11:44. Long Beach took the lead 8:55 into the second period, but the Falcons responded, getting the tying goal from John Wroblewski at the 5:08 mark of the third period. Long Beach wasted no time in the extra session, getting the game-winning goal from Ash Goldie just 39 seconds into overtime.
Sunday, January 7 vs. Victoria FALCONS 3 Salmon Kings 1
The Falcons recorded their fifth straight home win, and improved to 7-0-1 in their last eight games at Save Mart Center, with a 3-1 win over the Salmon Kings on Sunday. Victoria opened the scoring three minutes into the game on a Kiel McLeod goal. Fresno scored the equalizer 1:43 into the second period as John Wroblewski notched a power-play goal. Wroblewski tallied his second goal of the night at 9:58 of the third period to make it 2-1, and Tyler Kindle iced the game, scoring an empty-net goal with 32.7 seconds remaining.
THIS WEEK'S GAMES
Friday, January 12 vs. Utah 7:30 p.m.
Fresno hosts Utah in the third of seven meetings between the two clubs this season. The Falcons won a pair of games against the Grizzlies at Save Mart Center in mid-November, and are 5-2-0 all-time against Utah. The Grizzlies are in fifth place of the West Division with an overall record of 9-21-3 for 21 points.
PROMOTIONS: Friday the Falcons are hosting Chalk Talk with Coach Matt Thomas on the concourse at 6:45pm. All fans are invited to attend and learn more about hockey and Matt's game strategy for the Utah contest. Friday also features the Fresno Falcons 2007 Car and Truck Show on the ice during the first intermission.
Saturday, January 13 vs. Utah 7:30 p.m.
The Falcons host the Grizzlies for the final time this season. The two teams meet in Utah for a three-game series in mid-February.
PROMOTIONS: Saturday is Falcons Hat Night with the first 2,000 fans in attendance receiving a free Falcons hat courtesy of Heald College. Saturday also marks the return of the Madtown Auto Stereo and Accessories Go-Cart Races, and one lucky fan might win a brand new truck during the Bingham Toyota Truck Shootout.

- Fresno's 13 home wins are tied with Toledo for the most in the ECHL.
- The Falcons have scored at least one power-play goal in seven of their last eight games, going 10-for-47 (21.3%) on the man advantage over that span.
- Fresno has allowed two goals or less in 20 of its 32 games.
- Rob McFeeters has four goals and five assists in his last eight games.
- John Wroblewski has played in 151 consecutive games for the Falcons. He last missed a game on December 26, 2004.

MATT THOMAS SHOW
The Matt Thomas Show airs tonight live from World Sports Café from 5:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Join Falcons head coach and general manager Matt Thomas and director of broadcasting and media relations Joe Babik as they discuss Falcons hockey. The show airs live on 1550 Sporting News Radio each Monday throughout the season.
