Checkers agree to terms with Donnelly

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte Checkers announced today that they have agreed to terms with defenseman John Donnelly. Donnelly was also placed on the 3-day IR.

The 6-foot-4-inch, 220-pounder from Marquette, Mich. has skated in six games in the CHL this season. In one game with the New Mexico Scorpions and five games with the Tulsa Oilers this season, Donnelly recorded two goals and six penalty minutes.

The 27-year-old is in his fourth professional season after playing three years at St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisc. While at St. Norbert, Donnelly helped the Green Knights to the NCAA Frozen Four his senior season (2002-03).
