PENSACOLA, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots, a proud member of the ECHL, have solidified their goaltending today (Monday) with the signing of Evan Lindsay to a contract.

Lindsay, a native of Red Deer Alberta, Canada, is a former teammate of Dwayne Hay when the two played together last season with the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees of the Central Hockey League. Lindsay appeared in 48 games with the Killer Bees and posted a solid 25-18-4 mark with a 2.50 Goals Against Average, and a Save Percentage of 0.922.

"Our goaltending situation has changed dramatically over the past 24 hours," said Ice Pilots head coach Joe Clark. "Evan Lindsay simply adds a great deal of experience and gives our team a solid 1-2 punch in goal. And going down the stretch, we're going to need it. Between Mike Mole and Evan, we're in position to have a big second half and make a push for the playoffs."

Lindsay, a 6-foot, 2-inch, 198 pound goaltender, is no stranger to the ECHL after playing from 2000-2003 with the Tallahassee Tiger Sharks, Florida Everblades, Macon Whoopee, Mississippi Sea Wolves and the Roanoke Express. He posted 43 wins over the course of the four seasons with the clubs.

Lindsay had a solid junior career in the Western Hockey League where he played with the Prince Albert Raiders and the Tri-City Americans.

Evan Lindsay will be in the line-up for Pensacola this week when the team begins a four-game road trip prior to the ECHL All-Star Break.

The Ice Pilots busy week starts on Thursday with a visit to Gwinnett to meet the Gladiators. Fans can tune into the action on Classic Country AM1620 and www.icepilots.com beginning with Ice Pilots Countdown to Face-off at 5:45 pm. The play-by-play follows at 6 p.m. with Denis J. Hockey returns to The Hangar on Friday, January 19th when the Ice Pilots entertain the Texas Wildcatters at 7:05 pm. Superfan will be at the game to entertain fans of all ages.
