Condors Start New Year By Winning Two In A Row

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -The Condors started the New Year on the right foot, winning their first two games of 2007. They beat the National Conference-leading Las Vegas Wranglers, 3-2, Friday night on the road, and then came home to beat the Victoria Salmon Kings, 6-4, the following evening in front of 7,093 fans at The Nest.

The Condors are 18-10-3 on the season, and their 39 points has them just four points out of first place in the Pacific Division. They also extended their streak of consecutive games with a power-play goal to 20.

The Condors take on the Utah Grizzlies this Wednesday for High School/College ID Night, with a 7 p.m. start time. Friday, Jan. 12 and Saturday, Jan. 13 the Condors head up to Stockton to face off against the Thunder with 7:30 p.m. puck drop. Sunday, Jan. 14, the Condors return to The Nest to face the Fresno Falcons for Cheer Sign Giveaway Night. Doors open at 5 p.m. Puck drops at 6 p.m.

The Condors scored three goals in the first period and held on to beat the Las Vegas Wranglers, 3-2, on Friday night. Brett Lutes knocked home his 17 of the season, while Mike Hofstrand notched a power-play goal in the first to extend the team's power-play goal streak to 19 games.

Saturday, Jan. 6:

CONDORS 6 vs Victoria 4 (Attendance: 7,093)

Kevin St. Jacques tallied two goals and three assists, and the Condors extended their power-play goal streak to 20 games en route to a 6-4 victory over the Victoria Salmon Kings Saturday night, before 7,093 at Rabobank Arena, the third-largest crowd of the season.

St. Jacques leads the team in assists with 25 and points with 36

Lutes leads the team with 17 goals

Andrew Oke was activated off the 7-day IR on Saturday, Jan. 6

Reagan Leslie was placed on the 7-day IR on Saturday, Jan. 6
