DAYTON, OH (January 7, 2007) - Benoit Mondou picked up two goals and the Trenton Titans notched three in the third period to register a 4-2 win over the Dayton Bombers at the Nutter Center.
With score tied 2-2 in the third period Mondou stickhandled past two Bomber defenders before backhanding his second goal of the game into the top shelf to give Trenton the 3-2 lead - their first of the contest - with 3:24 left in regulation.
The two teams would come into the final period knotted at 1-1, but Trenton got caught on a 3-on-1 break and Tim Konsorada put Dayton back on top sneaking a wrist shot under the arm of Joel Martin.
Troy Riddle helped the Titans tie the score for the second time in match with another power play goal. Troy Riddle's centering pass deflected off of Scott Ford's skate and past Dan Lacosta making the score 2-2 at 12:32.
It took 34:20 for either team to get on the board, but Dayton struck first when Greg Labenski bombed a shot from the point and Yannick Tifu stuffed the rebound past Joel Martin.
As they had the night before, the Titans would use the man-advantage to get on the board. Mondou tied it up 1-1 with 16.5 second left until the intermission as he took a feed from Mark Pandolfo and wristed his seventh of the season in to the top corner.
Martin gathers his second consecutive win turning away 41-of-43 shots. Trenton went 2-for-7 on the power play and 3-for-3 on the penalty kill.
The Titans finish their road trip on Wednesday, January 10 at 7:30pm against the Cincinnati Cyclones Listen to all of the Titans action live on WBCB-1490AM or via B2 Networks at www.trentontitans.com
