BOMBERS NOTES

*Berkhoel's Streak Comes To An End! Bombers goaltender Adam Berkhoel saw his consecutive starts streak end at 16 when Dan LaCosta returned to the Bombers on Sunday against the Trenton Titans. His 16 consecutive starts were second longest in the ECHL this season (Andy Franck Wheeling 20). He posted a record of 11-3-2, with a 2.25 GAA, .905 SV% and two shutouts during that span and was named runner up for ECHL Saver of the Month for the month of December.

*Special Teams Have Been Special! The Bombers have scored a power play goal in eight out of their last nine games. In two of those games they have scored two power play goals; they are 10/50 (20.0%) in those nine games overall. The penalty kill has equaled the task of the power play, killing off 23/25 (92.0%) of their opponents power plays in the last five games, including a stretch of 23 straight penalties killed.

*Spreading the Wealth! 11 different Bombers have recorded 10 or more points on the season and five different Bombers have recorded 15 or more points. Yannick Tifu leads the Bombers in scoring with 29 points (9 G, 20 A) in 33 games. Mike Berry is second on the team with 22 points (12 G, 10 A) and has 13 points (6G, 7A) in 10 games since being acquired from Toledo in December. Alternate Captain Paul Kelly is third on the team in scoring with 19 points (7G, 12 A) in 27 games. Kelly set an individual season high for most points by a Bomber in a single game with his four (1G, 3A) in Friday's shootout loss to Wheeling.

* Bombs Away! The Bombers tied their season high for most shots in a single period with 22 in the 2nd period against Trenton on Sunday. They have out shot their opponents is 23 out of the 27 games played this season (907-703) and are averaging 33.59 shots for per game, while only allowing 26.04 shots against per game, that mark leads the ECHL in shots against.

LOOK OUT BELOW

* The Battle For First Place Heats Up! The Bombers are only two points behind the Cincinnati Cyclones for first place in the North Division, but only one point ahead of the Trenton Titans and Reading Royals who are in a tie for third place. Only six points separate the top from the bottom overall in the division.

IMPORTANT WEEK AHEAD! Dayton returns to the ice tomorrow night, as they host the Cincinnati Cyclones and the battle for the Cricket Cup resumes. Cincinnati currently leads the series 4-3, but the Bombers earned a point in a shootout loss, so they are 3-3-1 against the Cyclones this season. Tuesday will also be the first 2 for 1 Tuesdays sponsored by Prestige Ford. All fans can purchase 2 for 1 silver level seats and 2 for 1 hotdogs, popcorn and pretzels. The Bombers will play the Johnstown Chiefs on Friday, January 12, at 7:00 p.m. at the Nutter Center, before hitting the road to Trenton to take on the Titans on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday at 4:00 p.m.
