
Florida Reassigns D Alex Petrovic to San Antonio

SUNRISE, Fla. - Florida Panthers Executive VP/General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has activated D Alex Petrovic from injured reserve and reassigned the blueliner to San Antonio (AHL). The club has also activated D Dylan Olsen from injured reserve and placed F Tomas Kopecky on injured reserve retroactive to Jan. 18.
Petrovic, 21, has played in five games for Florida this season, logging a career high 15:35 TOI and eight hits on Dec. 23 vs. Tampa Bay. For his career in the National Hockey League, the Edmonton native has played in 11 NHL contests, all with Florida recording 31 PIM. He has played in 30 games for San Antonio this season recording 11 points (2-9-11) and 46 PIM.
Petrovic was drafted by Florida in the second round (36th overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
The Panthers begin a four-game road trip today when they visit the Detroit Red Wings at 5 p.m. The game can be seen live on FOX Sports Florida and heard on 560 WQAM. Sunrise Sports & Entertainment is the premier company of its kind in South Florida.
The Rampage will travel to Cedar Park on Wednesday, Jan. 29 to take on the Texas Stars, before hosting the Toronto Marlies on Friday, Jan. 31 for their annual Pink in the Rink game to help raise awareness for breast cancer.
