Wolves Skate Pass Bulldogs 4-1

January 26, 2014 - American Hockey League (AHL) - Chicago Wolves News Release

HAMILTON, Ont. --- The Chicago Wolves left Ontario with a pair of victories as they bagged their second win of the weekend with a 4-1 decision over the Hamilton Bulldogs on Sunday at Copps Coliseum.

Left wing Dmitrij Jaskin (G, A) and defenseman Mark Cundari (G, A) both posted multiple point games, while right wing Tyler Shattock and defenseman Joel Edmundson also tallied for the Wolves.

For the second night in a row, Chicago (23-15-2-2) got on the board first thanks to Jaskin. On the power play, Cundari sent a pass to the point for a one-timer by defenseman Brent Regner. The rebound popped out to the doorstep, where Jaskin wrangled the puck and buried it into a gaping net 14:25 into the game.

Chicago increased its lead over Hamilton (20-18-0-4) later in the period as a three-on-two rush developed to the Wolves' advantage. As Shattock streaked into the offensive zone joined by Jaskin and Edmundson, he released a shot on net that snuck through as Edmundson stationed himself in front.

The goals kept coming for the Wolves as the game's middle frame began. Just 1:28 into the period, Edmundson received a pass from center Adam Cracknell and beat Bulldogs goaltender Robert Mayer with a quick shot for the three-goal advantage.

The Bulldogs cut into Chicago's lead to make it 3-1 at 3:24 of the second period. Hamilton moved in on the Wolves' zone in an odd-man situation and right wing Christian Thomas whipped a shot near-side past goaltender Matt Climie.

Midway through the second frame, Chicago responded as Cundari tallied his first marker in a Wolves sweater. Forward Nathan Longpre fed a crisp pass to Cundari from the corner and the pinching defenseman shot a laser top-shelf.

Climie (5-7-0) denied 21 Bulldogs shots, while Mayer (4-8-2) made 40 saves.

Chicago continues on its five-game road trip at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29 at Rochester.
