Calgary, AB -- The Calgary Flames announced today that they have assigned defenseman Shane O'Brien to the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League.
O'Brien, a native of Port Hope, Ontario, has played 528 career games with Colorado, Nashville, Vancouver, Tampa, Anaheim and Calgary. This season with the Flames, in 45 games he has recorded 3 assists and 58 penalty minutes.
