
Florida Panthers Acquire RW Jimmy Hayes & D Dylan Olsen from Chicago

SUNRISE, Fla. - Florida Panthers Executive VP/General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has acquired RW Jimmy Hayes and D Dylan Olsen from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for RW Kris Versteeg and LW Philippe Lefebvre.
"We are pleased to welcome both Jimmy and Dylan to the Panthers," said Tallon. "Jimmy is a young, strong, hardworking, versatile forward who brings both size and skill to our team. Dylan, a former first round draft pick, is a young, solid defenseman who adds further depth to our blue line. We thank Kris for his contributions to the Panthers, including helping us win the 2011-2012 Southeast Division Championship, and wish him the best of luck in his return to Chicago."
Hayes, 23, has played in 43 career NHL games, all with Chicago (2011-2014) scoring six goals with seven assists and 16 PIM. The 6-foot-6, 221-pound forward scored 25 goals and registered 45 points in 67 games for Rockford (AHL) last season. This season, Hayes has recorded eight points (4-4-8) in 13 games with Rockford (AHL), while also appearing in two games for the Blackhawks.
The Dorchester, Massachusetts, native played three years of college hockey at Boston College (2008-2011) registering 81 points (42-39-81) in 117 games played. Hayes won a NCAA Frozen Four Championship during his sophomore season. He was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the second round (60th overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
Olsen, 22 has played in 28 career NHL games, all with Chicago (2011-2012), registering one assist and six PIM. He has played in 18 games with Rockford (AHL) this season recording eight assists and eight PIM.
The 6-foot-2, 214-pound blue liner, who was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, played two seasons (2009-2011) at the University of Minnesota-Duluth recording 24 points (2-22-24) in 53 games played. He was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the first round (28th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
