Milwaukee Admirals News Release
Milwaukee, WI--A slow start turned into a bad ending for the Milwaukee Admirals as they dropped a 4-3 decision to the Chicago Wolves in Amtrak Rivalry action on Friay night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
Milwaukee trailed 3-1 after the first period and spent the rest of the game trying to work their way back in it, before eventually succumbing to the Wolves for the second time this year.
Chicago jumped on the Adsin the first period, getting out to a 2-0 lead. It started for the Wolves on a Milwaukee power-play, when Chris Perter was able to jam home a rebound past Ads netminder Magnus Hellberg at 4:47 for a shorthanded tally. Dmitrij Jaskin pushed the lead to two with his second goal of the year four minutes later.
However, the Admirals cut the lead to 2-1 on Scott Ford's first goal of the season. The Ads Captain ripped a slap shot from the right point that deflected off of Chicago defenseman Taylor Chorney and past goalie Jake Allen. It was his first goal with Milwaukee since March 16, 2012.
The Wolves regained their two-goal lead on a tic-tac-toe goal from Pat Cannone with just 1:18 left to play in the period.
After a scoreless second period, Taylor Beck made the score 3-2 with his fourth goal of the year just 1:55 into the third. With Milwaukee on the power-play Colton Sissons took a quick pass from Mark Van Guilder and chipped the puck over to Beck, who lifted it over the glove of a diving Allen.
The Ads had another PP opportunity shortly after Beck's goal, but they were unable to convert.
Chicago's Corey Locke scored an empty-net goal with 1:01 left in the game to make it 4-2, however Mathieu Tousignant made things interesting for Milwaukee when he scored for the second time this year with 25 seconds to play. Unfortunately for the Ads they were never able to control the zone in the remaining time and lost for the first time in regulation on home ice this season.
