Tonight, the SeaWolves look for their third consecutive win as they take on the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) in the opening game of a three-game series at Jerry Uht Park. Last night, the SeaWolves and Bowie Baysox were tied in the sixth inning before the skies opened and a 2:11 rain delay followed. The game remained tied until the ninth inning when the SeaWolves put up a four-spot and went on for a 5-1 win...Tonight, righty Austin Kubitza makes his 16th start of the season and fifth against the Curve. Kubitza is 0-2 with two no-decisions in his previous four starts against the Curve. Kubita took a loss in his last start against Binghamton on July 2. In the game, he allowed five runs on nine hits with a walk and a strikeout in four innings of work. Erie lost the game 5-0... RHP Matt Benedict takes the mound for Altoona making his 11th
appearance, eighth start and third against the SeaWolves. Benedict is 2-0 against Erie this season allowing four earned runs in 13.0 innings pitched in those two starts. Benedict took a loss in his last start against Trenton on July 3. In the game, he allowed five runs on four hits with two walks and no strikeouts in 0.2 innings pitched...RHP Montreal Robertson takes the mound for Erie in game two making his Double-A debut. Robertson began the season with Class-A Lakeland where he appeared in 19 games (all in relief) posing a 2-6 record and 3.16 ERA. Allowed just two ER over his final 11 outings with the Flying Tigers.
