LAST GAME: The B-Mets enjoyed their largest shutout win of the season, beating New Britain, 7-0, Tuesday night at NYSEG Stadium. Seth Lugo worked the first six innings, allowing two hits for his first win in 10 starts, snapping a career long drought. All eight B-Mets reach base and three had multiple hits. Gavin Cecchini and Brandon Nimmo led the attack with three hits each, while Xorge Carrillo drove in the first two runs of the game, including his fourth home run of the season. Jared King and Josh Rodriguez also drove in multiple runs. Matt Koch and Akeel Morris combined out of the bullpen to finish off the shutout, allowing one total hit in their three innings.
BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Gabriel Ynoa is making his 15th start and first against New Britain this season. Ynoa faced the RockCats at NYSEG Stadium last August and allowed five runs in seven innings in a losing effort. More recently the righty is coming off back-to-back shutouts, allowing one earned run in 17 total innings.
NEW BRITAIN STARTER: RHP Shane Carle is making his 17th start with New Britain this year and second against the B-Mets. He pitched three perfect innings against Binghamton before rain suspended the game, ending Carle's outing. He's coming off a loss, allowing six runs in three innings vs. Reading for the loss. He's pitched three innings in each of his past two starts. Carle is tied for the league-lead with eight wins.
RISP: New Britain is hitting .105 (4-for-38) with men in scoring position over their last five games, losing all four. The Rock Cats have scored four total runs in their last four games.
GIVE ME FIVE: Binghamton has won their first four home games against New Britain for the second straight season. A win Wednesday would give Binghamton their first 5-0 start against the Rock Cats in franchise history. The B-Mets have outscored the Rock Cats 22-8 in the four games this season.
TUESDAY'S GONE: Binghamton is now 11-3 on Tuesday's this season, their best record for any day of the week. However, the B-Mets are just 2-9 on Wednesday's, their worst record for any day of the week.
STRUGGLES: The B-Mets are 28-33 since May 3rd. The Rock Cats are 7-20 since June 10th.
RUNNING IN PLACE: The B-Mets are 2-for-6 in stolen base attempts over their last eight games. The Rock Cats are 6-for-7 in stolen base attempts in the month of July.
TOP OF THE ORDER: Gavin Cecchini extended his hitting streak to eight games Tuesday. He's batting .324 (12-for-37) during the streak with three multiple-hit games. Cecchini is 5-for-10 in the last two games. He went hitless in the first series against New Britain.
NEW ERA: The B-Mets pitching staff has worked to a 2.53 ERA over their last 26 games. The bullpen has a 2.80 ERA in the last 22 games. The starting rotation has a 2.23 ERA in their last 14 games.
HOMERS: The B-Mets have hit four home runs over their last four games, having hitting just one in their previous seven games total. The B-Mets are 27-13 when homering in a game this season.
BIG EAST: The B-Mets are in a stretch of 24 straight games against the Eastern Division. The played the West in their previous 11. New Britain has won just one of their last 12 games against the East.
