The Fightin Phils (46-39) edged out the Portland Sea Dogs (31-55) on Wednesday night behind a strong spot start by Reinier Roibal. KC Serna's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh inning would win it for Reading as they held on 2-1.

The first three innings were scoreless on Wednesday night. Cameron Perkins hit his team-leading 18th double off Mike McCarthy in the bottom of the fourth inning to give the Fightin Phils a 1-0 lead. Reinier Roibal pitched four shutout innings as he gave up five hits with one strikeout.

Tom Windle (3-5) entered the game in the top of the fifth inning for Reading. Mike McCarthy left the game after four innings for the Sea Dogs as Simon Mercedes entered the game in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Portland scored their lone run of the game in the top of the eighth inning as Sam Travis hit a RBI single off Ryan O'Sullivan. The run would be charged to Ethan Martin who left the game after recording one out in the inning. Tyler Knigge made his first appearance off the injured list as he pitched a scoreless seventh inning. O'Sullivan earned his second save of the season.

Andrew Knapp and Harold Martinez continue their hot hitting as they both extend their hitting streaks.

The Fightin Phils and Sea Dogs wrap up their season series on Thursday night. First pitch is at 7:05 pm. Fans can listen to the game on CBS Sports Radio 1240 AM/98-5 FM and fightins.com beginning at 6:35 pm. Fans can watch the game on MiLB.tv beginning at 7:05 pm.
