
Earthquakes Midfielder Chofis Named to MLS Team of the Week

SAN JOSE, Calif. - San Jose Earthquakes midfielder Eduardo 'Chofis' Lopez has been named to Major League Soccer's Team of the Week for Week 25. Chofis tallied three spectacular goals on Wednesday vs. Real Salt Lake, including a contender for MLS Goal of the Week and a rare Olimpico.

Chofis, 26, now leads the team with eight goals in 2021. He is the first Earthquakes player to score 8+ goals in his first season with the club since Alejandro Moreno in 2005. His impressive performance also marks the first hat-trick by an Earthquakes player since Chris Wondolowski scored four goals vs. Chicago on May 18, 2019.
