Domingue Called up Again to AHL Portland

DULUTH, Ga. - Gladiators goaltender Louis Domingue is heading back to Maine afterbeing reassigned by the Phoenix Coyotes to the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League.

Domingue (pronounced LOO-ee DOE-ming), 21, had been on quite the hot streak prior to his call up. Since returning to the Gladiators on November 21st the Mont St-Hilarie,Quebec native had stopped 151 of 157 shots faced in four starts, posting a 1-1-0-2 record, with a 1.45 goals against average and a .960 save percentage. On the season, Domingue ranks sixth in the ECHL in goals against average (2.01) and second in save percentage (.939).

The second-year pro made three appearances for the Pirates during his first call up this season from October 30th through lateNovember, picking up a win to go with a 2.40 goals against average and a .934 save percentage.

This is Domingue's third career call up to the AHL. Last season he spent part of February with the Pirates, appearing in two games and picking up his first career AHL win (1-0, 2.40, .931). Domingue was a fifth round choice (#138 overall) of the Coyotes in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

The Gladiators are members of the ECHL, the nation's premier "AA" hockey league and are affiliated with the Phoenix Coyotes of the NHL. All home games are played at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
