Peter Sivak Returned from Abbotsford, Connolly Recalled

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Alaska Aces, proud ECHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League, announced today that veteran forward Peter Sivak (SEE-vack) has been returned to the Aces from his professional tryout offer with the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League and Aces forward Brendan Connolly has been recalled by Abbotsford.

Sivak, 31, skated in three games with Abbotsford after being loaned to the club on Nov. 28. He returns as the Aces leading scorer with 23 points (6g-17a) in 15 games and is tied for sixth in ECHL scoring. His 17 assists are tied for second in the league and he is second in Aces power play scoring with five points.

The 5-foot-11, 179 pound forward out of Slovakia has five points (4g-1a) in 12 career AHL games with Abbotsford and Worcester and has racked up 79 points (39g-40a) and a +4 rating in 78 career ECHL games with the Aces and San Francisco Bulls.

Connolly, 28, heads to the AHL for the first time this season with 17 points and a +4 rating in 18 games with the Aces. His ECHL contract rights were acquired by the Aces on Aug. 29 form the Greenville Road Warriors in exchange for forward J.M. Rizk and he was assigned to the Aces from Abbotsford, on an AHL contract, on Sept. 26.

The 5-foot-9, 175 pound forward has two assists in 15 career AHL games with Adirondack and Texas and has posted 222 points in 235 career ECHL games with Elmira, Greenville and the Aces.

Sivak is expected to join the Aces in time for tonight's game, continuing an eight game road trip at Utah. The game begins at 5:05 p.m. (103.7 FM/750 AM KFQD) at Maverik Center with the Peanut Farm Pregame Show opening the broadcast at 4:50 p.m.
