TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: With last night's game being postponed due to weather, the Cyclones will play their only contest of the weekend tonight - as they visit the Wheeling Nailers for the second time in less than a week. Cincy picked up a 3-2 shootout win in this building to close out last week's marathon road trip, which tied the 12-game season series at two.
SCOUTING THE NAILERS: Clark Donatelli's club continues to be the hottest team in the league, earning points in 11 straight games - the high for any team in the ECHL this season. They defeated the Reading Royals last night in overtime to keep their streak alive. After another multi-point night for Zack Torquato against the defending champs, he now ranks fifth in the league in scoring with 23 points (7 goals, 16 assists). Defenseman Mike Ratchuck, who has tallied points in three of his last four games ranks tied for fourth among all ECHL rear guards with 12 points. Goaltender Mike Condon has been a big reason for the Nailers success, playing in seven of the last eight games for the Nailers and posting points in each one. His 2.04 goals-against average ranks fifth among active goalies while his 425 saves are second-most. Collectively, he has amassed a 9-3-0-2 record. Mathieu Corbeil has also seen a game, posting a 39-save shutout in his only appearance this season.
About Last Night vs. Evansville: Due to inclement winter weather, last night's game was postponed by the ECHL to a later date. While no make-up date has been set at this time, fans who had tickets to the game may exchange them for any other regular season game. Call 513.421.7825 for more details.
Road Warriors: Cincinnati has remained one of the strongest road teams in the ECHL this season. With a 7-2-0 record, the Clones have the third most road points in the league (14) and second most road goals (42).
Northern (Lamp) Lights: The Clones have topped the division for all but one day during the 2013-14 season. This is thanks in part to a strong divisional record. Against North Division teams, they've earned a 7-3-0 record and have outscored opponents by a 41-33 clip.
Not in Our "House": Cyclones goaltender Michael Houser has gotten out to an impressive start this year. While his record sits at 4-4-0, he has an ECHL 7th-best 2.11 goals-against average. His 93.4 save percentage is tied for third among active goalies.
