
Doell named Player of the Month

The ECHL announced today that forward Kevin Doell has been named the Sher-Wood ECHL Player of the Month for February.
Doell, who was named the CCM Rookie of the Month yesterday, was also named the ECHL player of the week for February 2nd through the 8th where he totaled 8 points off of 3 goals and 5 assists.
Missing all but three games in January due to being recalled to the Chicago Wolves of the AHL, Doell returned to the Gladiators and recorded 11 goals and 10 assists in February for 21 points in the month.
Under contract to Chicago, Doell tallied two game winning goals in February and has tallied a goal in each of the Gladiators past three games.
Doell leads the Gladiators with 24 goals, eight-power-play goals, six game-winning goals, two shorthand goals, two shorthand assists, four shorthand points and 58 points (24g-34a) while ranking second on the team with 34 assists, 12 power-play assists, 20 power-play points (8g-12a) and a plus-minus rating of +18.
The rookie out of the University of Denver tied an all time Gladiators team high for goals in a game with four in a 7-3 win over the Roanoke Express on February 20th and his three goals on the power play in the win tied an ECHL high for power play goals in a game this season.
Following an eight day break, the Gladiators are back in action on Tuesday, March 9th against the Louisiana IceGators at 7:05 p.m. at the Arena at Gwinnett Center. For ticket information contact the Gladiators office at 770-497-5100.
