Fresno Falcons News Release

FRESNO, Calif. – Hours before beating the Las Vegas Wranglers on Wednesday, the Fresno Falcons sent forward Boris Protsenko to the South Carolina Stingrays in exchange for future considerations and cash.

Protsenko appeared in 32 games for Fresno, recording 11 goals and 16 assists for 27 points. Along with goaltender Nolan Schaefer, he was one of two Falcons players this season to receive a call-up to the American Hockey League where he played two games with the Houston Aeros.

Fresno also traded for winger Neil Posillico of the Roanoke Express on Feb. 28 in exchange for financial considerations. The 6'2", 249 lb. second-year pro made his Falcons debut on Wednesday after playing 15 games with the Express, for whom he recorded two points (1g-1a) and 46 penalty minutes. Posillico spent his rookie campaign playing for the Amarillo Gorillas of the Central Hockey League, where he compiled four points (1g-3a) and 228 penalty minutes.

The club tries to make it two wins in a row against the Wranglers during its next game on Sunday, Mar. 7, at Save Mart Center at 5 p.m. The first 5,000 fans will receive a 2003-04 Falcons team photo courtesy of Executech Communications. It is also a Fresno Bee Family Day, with coupons for four Silver Section seats for just $24 available in the Friday and Sunday editions of The Bee or online at www.CentralValley.com.

Regular-priced tickets to the game can be purchased directly at Save Mart Center's Box Office and all Ticketmaster outlets, which include select Save Mart Supermarkets, Tower Records, Wherehouse Music and Ritmo Latino locations, charged by phone at 485-TIXS or bought online by clicking the Ticketmaster icon throughout www.fresnofalcons.com.
