Chiefs Fall to Wheeling 4-3

Johnstown, PA- The Johnstown Chiefs ten game home unbeaten streak (8-0-2) was snapped Friday night, as the Wheeling Nailers defeated them 4-3 at the War Memorial.

Wheeling scored three first period goals Steve Crampton, Jake Ortmeyer, and Mario Larocque all tallied. Steve Hildenbrand scored a first period goal for the Chiefs. Kamil Kuriplach scored the other Wheeling goal. Jason Notermann had the other two Johnstown goals.

Chiefs goaltender David Currie did not start the game but suffered the loss allowing one goal while making 11 saves. Dimitri Patzold (5 saves) started the game, allowing all three first period goals.

The Chiefs fall to 34-18-6 on the season. Wheeling is now 43-13-2.

The Chiefs are back in action tomorrow night when they host the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies at 7:05 p.m. Sunday afternoon; the Chiefs will travel to Wheeling to face the Nailers at 2:00 p.m. The Chiefs will play at home next Saturday, March 13th vs. Wheeling, and Sunday, March 14th vs. Trenton at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are still available at the War Memorial box office, or by calling (814) 536-5156 or 1-800-CHF-TIXX.
