Dan Jancevski Named a Starter for the 2004 AHL All-Star Game

WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH - The Utah Grizzlies, in conjunction with the American Hockey League, announced today that Grizzlies defenseman Dan Jancevski has been named a starter for Team Canada in the 2004 Pepsi AHL All-Star Classic to be played Monday, February 9th in Grand Rapids, Michigan at Van Andel Arena.

The third-year Grizzly is the fifth Utah player selected to be in the AHL All-Star game joining last year's All-Star Most Valuable Player Jon Sim (02-03), Greg Hawgood (01-02), Gregor Baumgartner (01-02) and the late Roman Lyashenko (01-02).

Jancevski, 22, is in his third American Hockey League season with the Grizzlies and is a former second round selection (66th overall) of the Dallas Stars in the 1999 National Hockey League Entry Draft. In his career he has scored four goals and added 30 assists with 419 penalty minutes. This season, the Windsor, Ontario native has scored a career high three goals and added seven assists leading the way for Utah blueliners with 10 points and leading the team with 100 penalty minutes. The 6-3, 212-pound defenseman is third among active Grizzlies with 189 games played in a Utah uniform.

Joining Jancevski in the starting line-up are goaltender Wade Dubielewicz (Bridgeport), defenseman Bryan Muir (Manchester) and forwards Benoit Gratton (Hamilton), Eric Perrin (Hershey) and Jason Pominville (Rochester).
