Manchester Monarchs News Release
MANCHESTER, NH - The Los Angeles Kings, the NHL affiliate of the Manchester Monarchs, have activated goaltender Roman Cechmanek and right wing/assistant captain Ian Laperriere from the injured reserve list and assigned goaltender Mathieu Chouinard to the Monarchs. In addition, defenseman Maxim Kuznetsov has been designated for assignment. Cechmanek, 32, has missed the last six games after re-aggravating a hip contusion in the Kings-Colorado Avalanche game on December 20. The 6-foot-3, 211-pounder was originally hurt during the Kings-Nashville Predators contest on December 11, and missed three games before returning on December 20. The native of Gottwaldov, Czech Republic, has played in 25 games this season for the Kings, posting a 12-10-1, a 2.30 goals-against-average, four shutouts and a 905 save-percentage.
Laperriere, 29, has been out of the Kings lineup since November 27 due to a concussion. The 6-foot-1, 201-pound native of Montreal, Quebec, has appeared in 20 games for the Kings this season, recording six assists (0-6=6) and 25 penalty minutes.
Chouinard, 23, did not play for the Kings after being recalled (emergency basis) on January 3. He has played in 11 games for the Monarchs this season and has a 4-3-0 record, a 2.71 goals-against-average and a .897 save-percentage. Chouinard is a 6-foot-1, 211-pounder from Boisbriand, Quebec.
Kuznetsov, 26, has appeared in 16 games for the Kings this season, recording an assist (0-1=1) and 20 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-5, 235-pound native of Pavlodar, Russia, did not make his season debut until November 27 because of failing to report to training camp due to travel visa problems (he was placed by the Kings on the suspended list on October 7). He has also played in three games with the Monarchs this season, recording zero points and two penalty minutes.
The Kings (16-13-6-4) return to the ice tonight versus the Mighty Ducks at The Pond at 10:30 p.m. (ET). The game will be broadcast on ESPN Radio 710 - KSPN and along the Kings Radio Network.
