Dan Ellis Returns to Grizzlies and Ron Tugnutt Heads Back to Dallas

WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH - The Utah Grizzlies National Hockey League (NHL) affiliate, the Dallas Stars, announced today that they have re-called goaltender Ron Tugnutt from the Grizzlies and have re-assigned goaltender Dan Ellis back to Utah.

Ellis, 23, played in his first NHL game on Wednesday night making 25 saves in a 4-3 Dallas victory over Los Angeles. In eight games with the Grizzlies this season, the Saskatoon, Saskatchewan native has posted a 2-5-0 record with a 2.17 goals against average and a .940 save percentage with one shutout. Ellis began the season in the ECHL with Idaho and earned All-Star honors for the ECHL mid-season game. In 23 games with the Steelheads, Ellis went 13-8-0 with a 2.56 goals against average.

Tugnutt went 1-3-1 in five games with Utah posting a 2.99 goals against average and a .894 save percentage.

The Grizzlies and Stars are both in action tonight with Utah hosting the Chicago Wolves and Dallas hosting the Colorado Avalanche.
