Ducks blanked by Roadrunners

TORONTO, ON -- Stephen Valiquette stopped 32 shots to lead the Toronto Roadrunners to a 2-0 victory over the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks Friday at Ricoh Coliseum.

Miika Luoma broke a scoreless tie with a power-play goal 14:42 into the second period and Sean McAslan scored an empty-net goal with 14 seconds remaining in the game for Toronto, which has won two in a row and six of its last eight.

Valiquette turned aside 10 shots in the first period, 10 shots in the second and 12 more in the third en route to his second shutout of the season.

Ilya Bryzgalov stopped 17 of the 18 shots that he faced for Cincinnati, which lost its second straight game and fell to 7-14-2-0 away from home.

The Ducks play tonight at 7:00 p.m. at Hamilton.
